Membership page

Sarge suggested that we create a way of listing the members. I think it should be relatively easy to write a page that would have a little heading (e.g., “A Little about Posse People”) and then would extract a few fields from the table that holds the membership information. For example, the page might have one line for each member that would include (say) nickname, firstname, and biobit (whatever the field name is for “about yourself” on the user profile).

I wonder what we could extract…one sec…yep, we can get first name, last name, nick name, description, it could be something like this:

* John has been a member since [2006-12-30 20:01:30], but he goes by “buster.” He said, “I’m just a guy whose been misunderstood” [optional] and you can learn more about him at http://johnl.wordpress.com.
* coreyjo joined the posse [2006-12-30 21:54:46]; she goes by “sarge.” She said, “Go, peace, go!”
* ….

Of course, the text could be different. It could just be a table with columns for the names, dates, and such.

What do y’all think?

  1. I’m still voting for a simple list of names/codnames- just text on the left side of the page (maybe as a side bar?) – with a plain heading like “we’re here for peace” and then “come stand with us” at the bottom in addition to this page with more info. But then I am not doing any of the hard part of the work on this.
